Amy R. White, CFP®, CDFA®
Amy is a Certified Financial Planner™ practitioner. Amy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Chadron State College in Nebraska in 1994. Amy began in the financial services industry shortly after college as a para-planner for a CFP® in her home town in western Nebraska. In 1997, Amy made the move to Kansas to start her practice and worked as a commission based advisor for 4 years. After getting her feet wet in the industry, she decided to make the move to primarily a fee-based practice with a few independent firms in the area.
Through the years as being a fee based financial advisor, Amy finally landed with Steffes Financial in 2006 as an Investment Adviser Representative. During those 10 years, Amy operated her practice as a solo practice under the Steffes branch. In the fall of 2017, Amy registered her company with the State of Kansas securities office to hang her own shingle of Prairie Ridge Asset Management, LLC where she primarily serves her clients and continues to collaborate with Steffes Financial, Ltd.
During the pandemic that started in March 2020, Amy decided to pursue an additional designation and obtained her Certified Divorce Financial Analyst designation. She hopes to be able to collaborate with attorney's and help clients come to fair and equitable outcomes for both sides to the financial side of divorce.
Amy has two children who have sprung the nest. One child is in college and another has graduated from college and is planning to pursue a law degree. Amy is an avid health nut and enjoys exercising and playing with her labradoodle on a daily basis. She has also recently taken up sewing as an additional hobby as she is learning to quilt. Amy has volunteered at Harvesters, Rose Brooks, and City Union Thrift. In October of 2025, Amy was nominated to be on the Board of Directors for her alma mater, Chadron State College.
